Food Drives & Donations

As the region’s sole food bank, Foodlink ensures that millions of pounds of purchased and donated food are collected, safety stored, and distributed to our food bank members (food pantries, meal programs, etc.) that serve thousands of of neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

In our region, more than 150,000 people lack access to enough nutritious foods. That is 1 out of every 8 people.

#GiveHealthy Virtual Food Drives

Food drives are one of the most popular forms of giving in the United States. People make billions of food drive donations each year to help more than tens of millions of Americans facing hunger.

Foodlink is now a proud partner of #GiveHealthy — a movement to change how and what people donate. #GiveHealthy enables people to donate fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy food by making it easy, fun, social and environmentally friendly. We help ensure that the food you donate makes the biggest impact for people in need.

There are lots of people and organizations doing great work to increase access to healthy food. #GiveHealthy is banding them together to achieve a measurable goal: that people donate more healthy food to food drives, so that people facing hunger have greater access to the nutrition they need to live active, healthy lives.

Individuals

Small donations (e.g. a couple grocery bags of non-perishables) are accepted at Foodlink, but would make a larger impact at one of our 350+ food bank members. Plus, to ensure your donation has the greatest impact on your local community, we encourage donors to reach out to their local food pantry or meal program and ask what types of donations they need and accept.

View Foodlink’s Find Food map for a listing of 200+ local organizations doing outstanding work in their communities. If you would still prefer to donate to Foodlink, our main lobby (2011 Mt. Read Blvd.) is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thank you!
