Day & Time: Monday-Friday; 9:00am-12:00pm

Location: 2011 Mt. Read Blvd. Rochester NY, 14615

Requirements: Must be at least 13 years old (a chaperon is required to sign-up and participate in volunteer shifts involving youth 13-15). Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (the warehouse can be cool).

Physical Intensity: High. The volunteer project will include walking, standing, and lifting boxes up to 25-50 pounds. Tasks are often repetitive.

The Foodlink Community Kitchen prepares and delivers thousands of meals daily for students in the City of Rochester. During the school year, the meals

The Foodlink Community Kitchen prepares and delivers thousands of meals daily for students in the City of Rochester. During the school year, the meals are delivered to many grab-and-go or after-school programs. During July and August, the meals are delivered to dozens of Summer Meals sites.

Date & Time: Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm

General Requirements: Volunteers must be 16 years or older and wear closed-toed shoes. It is also encouraged that you wear a jacket or light sweater. Our Community Kitchen is chilly

Food Safety Requirements: Volunteers must avoid wearing torn/dirty clothing, long/painted fingernails, fake lashes, and jewelry when participating in this project. Piercing/open or bleeding wounds must be covered.

Physical Intensity: The physical intensity of this project is considered high and will involve walking, standing, twisting, bending, lifting( items up to 50 lbs.) continuously throughout the shift. Tasks are often repetitive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The Curbside Market is Foodlink’s market on wheels that links communities in the Rochester area to fresh, affordable food. Volunteers will ride along with our vehicle operators to multiple sites to assist customers and/or deliver pre-ordered boxes of food. This opportunity can accept only 1 volunteer per shift.

Locations: Will meet at Foodlink (2011 Mt. Read Blvd.) and then travel with the vehicle operator to various locations.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Foodlink is a trusted community resource for community health education. All workshops and educational opportunities are designed to be accessible, engaging, and useful for participants. Programming can be conducted virtually, at Foodlink, or at community sites across the region. Volunteers are needed to prep and deliver grocery items to participants’ homes as a part of the “Cooking with Foodlink” program, a virtual culinary and nutrition education class. This opportunity can accept up to 1-3 volunteers per shift.

Location: Will meet at Foodlink (2011 Mt. Read Blvd.) Delivery locations will vary.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must have transportation and a valid driver’s license. Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Physical Intensity: Moderate. Portions of the project will take place outside and include walking and lifting bags up to 25 pounds.
