Description: In an effort to provide healthy meals to Rochester students, Foodlink will be collaborating with RCSD and preparing thousands of additional meals each week for elementary and high-school students who attend in-person classes.

Date & Time: Wednesdays 8am-12pm or 12pm-3:30pm.

Requirements: Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Duties include laying out meal trays, preparing cold meals, sealing trays, packing coolers, and cleaning.

Physical Intensity: The physical intensity of this project is considered high and will involve walking, standing, twisting, bending, lifting( items up to 50lbs) continuously throughout the shift. Tasks are often repetitive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Foodlink distributes more than 20 million pounds of food each year, and volunteers play an integral role in this process. Volunteers assist in our warehouse by sorting and inspecting donated items before they leave our facility.

Day & Time: Monday-Thursday; 1:00-4:00pm

Location: 1999 Mount Read Blvd. Rochester NY, 14615

Requirements: Must be at least 13 years old( a chaperon is required to sign-up and participate in volunteer shifts with youth 13-15). Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (the warehouse can be cool).

Physical Intensity: High. The volunteer project will include walking, standing, and lifting boxes up to 25-50lbs. Tasks are often repetitive.

Each week, Foodlink coordinates the distribution of emergency food boxes through our no-touch, drive-thru distributions — including a weekly distribution at its Mt. Read

Each week, Foodlink coordinates the distribution of emergency food boxes through our no-touch, drive-thru distributions — including a weekly distribution at its Mt. Read Boulevard facility. Volunteers are needed to assist with the distributions by helping load food boxes into registered vehicles and assisting with setup and cleanup.

Date & Time: Fridays; 1:00-4:00pm

Locations: 1999 Mount Read Blvd. Rochester NY 14615

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Physical Intensity: High. This activity is outdoors and consists of walking, standing, and lifting boxes up to 40-50 lbs. This project is held in rain, snow, or shine. Tasks are often repetitive.

The Curbside Market is Foodlink’s market on wheels that links communities in the Rochester area to fresh, affordable food. Volunteers will ride along with our vehicle operators to multiple sites to assist customers and/or deliver pre-ordered boxes of food. This opportunity can accept only 1 volunteer per shift.

Date & Time: Varies

Locations: Will meet at Foodlink( 1999 Mount Read Blvd.) and then travel with the vehicle operator to various locations.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Physical Intensity: High. The volunteer project will include walking, standing, and lifting boxes up to 25-50lbs. Volunteer activities will take place outside.

Foodlink is a trusted community resource for nutrition education. All workshops and educational opportunities are designed to be accessible, engaging, and useful for participants.

Foodlink is a trusted community resource for nutrition education. All workshops and educational opportunities are designed to be accessible, engaging, and useful for participants. Programming can be conducted virtually, at Foodlink, or at community sites across the region. Volunteers are needed to prep and deliver grocery items to participants’ homes as a part of the “Cooking with Foodlink” program, a virtual culinary and nutrition education class. This opportunity can accept up to 1-3 volunteers per shift.

Date & Time: Varies

Location: Will meet at Foodlink(1999 Mount Read Blvd.) Delivery locations will vary.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. Must have transportation and a valid driver’s license. Must wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Physical Intensity: Moderate. Portions of the project will take place outside and include walking and lifting bags up to 25lb pounds.
