On Thursday, Nov. 18, 10 Curbside Market Ambassadors met at The Commissary to begin the first in a series of monthly workshops centered around community action, education, and advocacy. The Curbside Market Ambassador program creates opportunities for people — or in this case, customers — in the communities we serve to inform and shape the direction of our work. There are currently more than 20 Ambassadors promoting the Curbside Market!
Throughout the luncheon, participants shared their passion and commitment toward uplifting their neighborhood for children, families, and the elderly. After lunch, participants donned their aprons and hairnets to get to work crafting their own menu!
The Commissary is located in Sibley Square. It provides services, equipment (including a commercial kitchen with 24-hour access) and support to small food businesses in Rochester. Lisa Malavez, owner and chef of Que Chevere, catered a delicious menu featuring Puerto Rican cuisine!
