Everyone at Foodlink is filled with gratitude this week after the outpouring of support we received on Giving Tuesday this year.

ROC the Day, powered by the United Way, helped Foodlink raise more than $100,000 this year — approximately 4x its total from last year. The donations help support Foodlink’s ongoing and elevated response to the COVID-19 public health crisis, which has resulted in a sudden spike in food insecurity in the Rochester area — and across the nation.

In a thank you message to supporters on Wednesday, President & CEO Julia Tedesco said:

“On behalf of all of us at Foodlink, and all of those we serve, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Hundreds of thousands of families across our region are struggling with hunger — some for the first in their lives. Your support makes it possible for Foodlink to continue to respond to this public health and economic crisis. We know the pandemic has left so many people hurting, and we didn’t know what to expect from this year’s campaign, which is why we are in awe of you showed up, with so much generosity. ”
