Although we’re not all gathering together at Tops this year for the annual Food for Families campaign, we’re still hoping the community responds in a big way to help Foodlink eradicate hunger in the Rochester region.
This year, the economic impact of COVID-19 has caused food insecurity to spike 45% in the 10-county region that Foodlink serves. With the partnership of Tops, News 8 WROC, WCMF Radio, Citizens Banks and others, the Food for Families campaign helps feed thousands of our neighbors each year.
Due to the pandemic, we’ve organized the event a little differently this year, with remote TV appearances from our respective home bases. In a typical year, we’d all celebrate the campaign in person at the Tops markets in Greece and Henrietta, but this is far from a typical year. Viewers can support the campaign either during their next visit to Tops or without leaving the house by making an online donation.
Many thanks to all of our campaign partners, especially Tops, for supporting our mission! In addition, Citizens Bank has stepped up in a big way once again, offering a $10,000 match for incoming donations today.
