Foodlink Community Cafe now offering online ordering

The Foodlink Community Cafe took another step forward this fall with the launch of online ordering on Oct. 25, adding a convenient option for customers to pick up their meals.

The pay-it-forward-style cafe is located in the Central Library’s Bausch & Lomb branch, at 115 South Ave. in Rochester. Since launching in May, the cafe has served as an excellent training opportunity for culinary apprentices enrolled in the Foodlink Career Fellowship. While the primary mission is to bolster Foodlink’s primary career empowerment initiative, the cafe also provides an affordable ($2) Community Meal option for customers who are unable to pay the listed price on the menu.

The cafe relaunched in September after taking a few weeks off at the end of the summer, and added an indoor seating area and welcomed in a new cafe supervisor. Bre Hepburn, a member of the Foodlink Career Fellowship’s inaugural graduating class in 2019, is now running the cafe and training members of the Class of 2022.

The cafe continues to roll out creative, new and delicious sandwich, soup and side options each week, to go along with staples such as the top-notch tuna, grilled cheese and garden salad.
