From Farm to Flatbread: Foodlink Community Cafe’s Fresh Flavors

Nestled inside Rochester’s Central Library, the Foodlink Community Café offers more than just delicious food. The café is all about giving back to the community while providing a space for our culinary apprentices to launch their careers. 

As the café rolls out its new summer menu, they are committed to fresh, local ingredients – many of which are grown right at the Foodlink Community Farm!

Farm-fresh Flavors on Your Plate

Imagine biting into a Breakfast Burrito bursting with flavor, knowing the kale that adds a delightful pop of green was harvested just a short distance away. Or savoring Kay’s Jerk Chicken flatbread pizza with peppers as vibrant as their spice, thanks to the fertile grounds of the Foodlink Community Farm.

That’s the beauty of the cafe’s dedication to using farm-fresh ingredients. Here are a few more examples of how we have incorporated fresh produce into this summer’s menu: 

  • Kale: A superstar leafy green, this veggie finds its way into the Breakfast Burrito, Farm Fresh Summer Veg flatbread pizza, and even the new Breakfast pizza!
  • Lettuce: Crisp and refreshing, the lettuce adds a perfect touch to side salads.
  • Celery: A crunchy addition to tuna salad used in the Top Notch Tuna Signature Sandwich and signature Mac Salad.
  • Peppers: A perfect homegrown addition to the fiery kick the Kay’s Jerk Chicken Wrap and Kay’s Jerk Chicken flatbread pizza brings. 
  • Herbs: From the aromatic oregano in the signature pizza sauce to the flavorful thyme in the jerk seasoning and herb aioli, these fragrant additions come straight from the farm.

  • Sauerkraut: Tangy and delicious, homemade sauerkraut made with farm-grown cabbage is coming soon to the hot dogs.
