The recuitment period for the Foodlink Career Fellowship — Foodlink’s unique culinary training program — is almost over, but there’s still time to nominate a future chef!
The Fellowship is an intensive apprenticeship and anti-poverty program that allows participants to gain hands-on training within the Foodlink Community Kitchen and the Foodlink Community Cafe. The 12-month program also includes an online course, as well as field trips to local food establishments, and guest appearances by local chefs.
The program was designed for people 18+ who face barriers to sustainable employment and who are passionate about having a career in the regional culinary arts and food-service industry. After the 12-month program is completed, graduates are prepared for middle-skills positions with essential cooking techniques, industry credentials (e.g. ServSafe, First Aid) and the hard skills needed in large-scale food production.

Applicants must be nominated by a community partner. Both the nomination and application forms can be found on Foodlink’s website.
The deadline to apply is August 19.
