President & CEO Julia Tedesco was honored Thursday at the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Breakfast as the recipient of a Community Stewardship Award.
Now in its second year, the event hosts local lawmakers for a wide-ranging panel discussion, and honors a local non-profit and for-profit leader for their service to the community. Colleen Wegman, President & CEO of Wegmans Food Markets, was honored alongside Tedesco — a fitting combination given the strong partnership between the two organizations.
The event featured a panel of local elected officials, including: Senator Robert Ortt, Senator Jeremy Cooney, Senator Pamela Helming, Assemblyman Josh Jensen and Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey.
In accepting their awards, both Tedesco and Wegman were effusive in their praise of one another and their respective organizations.
“Few businesses have shaped the trajectory of Foodlink of a nonprofit the way Wegmans has shaped ours. There are countless ways in which they helped lay the foundation for Foodlink’s growth and success,” Tedesco said. “The continuous improvement, innovation and impact of our institutions is an obligation first and foremost to all of those whom we serve, but also to all of those whom we serve alongside, and to those who preceded us.”
