Foodlink is once again offering its popular Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables program at the Public Market on Thursdays. Nutrition educators are back in full swing offering free recipes demonstrations and nutrition lessons beginning Thursday.
Demonstrations have been on pause throughout the winter, but Foodlink is happy to announce their return to coincide with the launch of National Nutrition Month – an annual campaign established in 1973 by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Demonstrations take place at 9 and 10 a.m. in Shed B at the cooking demo kitchen. Each session takes approximately 20 minutes, and guests are offered samples of the prepared recipe, which focuses on seasonal fruits and vegetables that can be purchased at the market. Recipes prepared are healthy, delicious, simple, and inexpensive.
Sign-ups are not required to attend a demonstration; everyone is welcome. Guests can show up, grab a seat, and enjoy the interactive nutrition workshop. In addition to the market workshops, during the month of March, Foodlink educators have various workshops around the community that will focus on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical habits.

March 13: Phoenix Academy located at 200 Alcott Rd, Rochester, NY 14626. From 2 PM – 3 PM. Open to students only.
March 20: Upper Falls Square Apartments located at 396 Hudson Ave, Rochester, NY 14605. At 10 AM. Open Upper Falls Square residents only.
