The Get Together: A Successful Evening of Community and Impact

Foodlink’s annual spring event, The Get Together, brought together an incredible group of supporters, partners, and community leaders for an evening rooted in purpose and connection. From the moment guests arrived, the energy in the room was clear—this was a community united by a shared commitment to ending hunger and building healthier futures.

Thanks to the generosity of those in attendance and beyond, the event raised $250,000 to support Foodlink’s mission. But more than that, the evening served as a powerful reminder that this work is only possible because of the people who stand behind it.

Throughout the evening, Foodlink shared how we are actively rebuilding and reinvesting to meet the growing need across our region. As food insecurity continues to rise, our work is not just about responding to today’s challenges—it’s about preparing for what lies ahead.

From expanding our Community Kitchen to strengthening how we distribute millions of pounds of food each year, these investments ensure that families, seniors, and children have consistent access to nutritious food—no matter what comes next.

The Get Together also gave us the opportunity to recognize two outstanding partners whose leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact on Foodlink’s work and the community we serve.

Stuart J. Mitchell III was honored with the Thomas C. Ferraro Legacy Award, which recognizes visionary leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep commitment to service. Stuart has been a steadfast champion for economic justice and community development, offering guidance and support that has strengthened Foodlink at critical moments throughout our history.

The Greece Central School District received the Rosa Wims Community Partner Award, honoring organizations that provide exemplary service through partnership with Foodlink. Greece CSD has been a leader in addressing food insecurity among students and families through innovative, school-based pantry programs—ensuring access to food is integrated directly into the school environment with dignity and care.

We are deeply grateful for both of these partners and the meaningful ways they continue to support our mission.

The Get Together was more than an event—it was a reflection of what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose. Every conversation, every contribution, and every show of support helps move this work forward.
